My haynes book doesnt mention where to disconnect this pipe, which goes right over the cyl. head cover. What one do I disconnect?

I think its the compression type fitting (green arrow), but there is also another (red arrow). the blue arrow is about where the solid pipe goes to pump? but cant see it on pictures.

Since the pipe is metal, not sure if disconnecting it from the flexi hose will allow it to move out the way...

All you do is undo the joint where y our green arrow is. The rocker cover should come out without removing the pipe down to the blue arrow as i have done a few head gaskets on them and you don't need to remove it.

youll also need to undo your throttle cable bracket to make life easy

thats your power steering pipe i think


when i did my 2.0 conversion i just disconnected it, undid the bolt type thing and moved it

all you get is abit of fluid leaking everywhere, but it will allow you to move it

When I changed my cam cover, I just unbolted it and shoved it out the way. Plenty of play in it.

Ordered the parts today, already have the tools (£80 for torque wrench, valve spring compressor and a few other bits). Looks like the bolts use a torx t55 top, so will need to get a socket for that too..

Was expecting parts to about £80, but its gonna be £140

= £230 in total so far.

Incase I forgot anything.. this is what I ordered, picking it up tomorrow:

Gaskets - Cyl head, rocker cover, inlet, exhaust (+ plastic spacer)

Cyl. head bolts, valve stem seals.
