Right guys forget about Sixfields the other nite, wasn't having a rant or anything was just telling it how it was. It wasn't anybody's fault just a bit of bad luck really, oh well, live and learn.

By the way, forgot to mention, managed to have a quick look at some of the cars in the car park. And the two most notable to me in the 2 mins I had were:

Mouse's - Absolutely loved the smoothing on this car, something completely different and very professionally carried out, with the 2.oL power to back up the good lucks. Spot On.

Russ Si - Parked behind this one and it caught my attention straight away. Just the simplicity, lovely stance and georgous black wheels made it stand out for sure. Very nice indeed fella!

Goaty - To answer your question on the 4" Helper Springs mate. When you say the springs are popping in and out, do you mean the are jumping around on the spring platform? If that is the case you can either raise your ride height, in other words apply more preload onto you springs in order to stop them moving around as much. Or, like me get some helper springs. This will solve the issue raised above, but remember to get the right size internal diameter of spring, think it is 2.25 Inch on the AVO's.

The reason I put them on was because I found that under heavy breaking when the rear ride height was at its highest (nearly full rear droop) I could feel there was no travel left in the springs so if I hit a slight bump going into a corner the inside (unloaded) rear spring would dislocate and hit the platform hard on its way back down. Not only was this annoying, but it didn't give me much confidence when cornering over unpredictable surfaces. The AVO's are a bit of a bad design really because the rear springs are a bit too short in my opinion, a couple of coils more would give them a bit of preload on the platforms and stop all the problems the lower the platform is set.

Hope this helps fella, bear in mind that the helper springs aren't particularly cheap for what they are! :o

The pictures you requested...

After... With the spring platform adjusted to compensate for the compressed length of the spring, so the rear ride height was kept the same...

Hey guys, haven't posted on here in a few days because as usual have been too busy with Uni work and working 12 hour days to try and save up some money lol!

Russ Si - No problem mate - top work  !

taylor5788 - Hello there mate, first off thanks for the very kind comments :) . I personally haven't fitted an alarm to my car myself, because it already had a Cat 1 alarm fitted to the car when I bought it. The alarm is fitted with ultrasonics and with remote central locking (handy as I don't have any locks lol!). I am just very careful with where I leave my car etc etc mate. It is parked on my fully lit drive most of the time always with one car blocking it in, and of a night it has a full car cover over it so people don't know exactly what it is etc etc. Plus I have a steering lock. As you have stated tho, the car only has to be noticed by the wrong type of person and it WILL be broken into. You can only do your best lol!

Cheers guys,
Dave :)

Well, She's Gone =(

Right as most of you may well know, my car has been for sale for a few weeks now. It was sold and picked up today by 'banditbarron' off this site.

He is a sound guy and has future plans for her, including going to all the big shows this year after putting the 2.0L engine in etc.

This post is really just to tie up all the loose ends really, with a couple of final pics...

Here is he car as she was rolled up onto the truck...

In 2 years, and on a students salary! No wonder i'm skint now!

Well, I can honestly say it was all worth it in the end.

And the best of luck to the new owner Dave. Hope you have as much fun in her as I have lol!

Dave

Best of luck to both of you! You really have done well with that car, and hopefully it will carry on and improve even more!

And I'd like to say thanks to you Dave for keeping this post an interesting read! Very informative, and a good reference for people to look at!

Top man!
