well as some of you know or maybe not

as friend of mine came to the FSI RR day in his white sierra xr4x4, well that's his runabout[cool]

his real beast of a toy is his twin turbo'd 2.9 V6 XR4x4[devil]

i am in the process of uploading the hundreds of work in progress pics he has so bare with me its going to take me an age to do[lol]


i will start with a pic of how the car looked when it came off the road nearly 3yrs ago

this car had a standard 2.9 V6 in it, bill had another sierra shell that was rusting away, and that had the twin turbo engine in it, so he deicided to sort the rare shell and do an engine transplant[devil]

unfortunately i never got to going the car as i met, my friend bill just after the cars were taken off the road[cry], but it was nick named the "jesus fooking christ car"[lol]



this shell is a super rare 3dr saph shell[cool] apparently only 3 were ever made, but he has since found out that the 3dr saph were made in south africa(my home country[lol]) he doesn't knw that much about the history of the shell, but it has been checked over and there is no signs of any welding to the shell at all,so it looks genuine[cool]


well here start the progress pictures, he bare metaled the shell[cool], i will let the pictures do the talkin tho. there are alot more to come[wink]




























thats all the bare metal progress[cool] he then preped the shell and sprayed a layer of red oxide primer on and i think that white stuff is seam sealer[lol]


























everything on the car was then given a going over in filler primer(i think it is anyways[lol]) and prepered it some more

























well here are the good pic's and how it stands so far, he has decided to go for imperial blue[drool], i will let the pic's do the talking























i will post some more pic's up later on tonight when i have uploaded them[cool]

i think it sort of resembles a small skyline in a way in the first pic

cheers for the comments guys, he has paid alot of attention to detail with this car, and i am there every workshop night with him (as i live with him and his mrs) i have helped out on quite a few bits on the car

i can remember helping him sand the underneath ready to be sprayed


as far as i know the spoiler is the only thing that isn't going back on, he doesn't want a cossie kit(as far as i know) because its not a cossie and his runabout keeps getting mistaken for one[lol]

plus it eats cossie's fore brekkie[devil]


as i said i have littlerally 100's of pic's to upload, there would have been more but my browser crashed the other night while it was uploading and i couldn't be arsed to do it again[lol]

but i will get there, my poor 56k connection tho[cry]

i can't talk from exprience, i can only go by what other people where i have my workshop have said, and they have all said its fooking mental

i wasn't running right, the turbo's were shagged and it still did a 13 sec's quater mile time

he was on his final run and spun all 4 wheels on the sticky tarmac[shock]

its running 340bhp 395ft/lb of torque(i think those are the correct figures)

with the new intercooler set up he's hoping to get a bit more[devil] scoobies in westsussex beware[lol]

as i live with him, i will hopefully be out in this each time he goes for a spin[devil] can't wait

ive never seen one with the saloon rear end on a 3 door its well cool!

Its f****g awsome mate, 220bhp lump in it aswell. Its funny watching people double take when you drive past them, You are sitting on the back seats to drive it too. Great fun
