I wouldn't expect to much of a sound change as its only a 1.1, your not going to hear much over the tappets anyway, save your money and don't draw unwanted attention to your car!

Cheers for the feed back, i think ill just leave it as it is and fit the back box, becuase im only 17 and money is already tight.
Il save the tuning for when i get a real SI ( dreaming )

i had a k&n panel on my hcs with a few drilled holes in the airbox... sounded alot meatier...too meaty especially when i was crawling up a hill lol. sounded too much for how fast it was, didn't move in tune with the rev - if that makes sense
made next to no difference in performance, if it did i wouldn't have noticed as the 15" wheels completely crippled any form of acceleration on it...
it only went to 90mph with them on lol

can get this for replacement, or i have heard of a bolt on air filter which replaces that big grey bit in the engine for 1.1
personnaly i wouldnt bother

how olds the car, if its a mks3 fiesta have a lightly tuned 1.3 HCS engine for ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£300. should tell insurance about the cc increase but everything else about the engine you can keep stum about. only done 12000 miles.
ported head, 40 thou skim
1mm oversize pistons
pistons and connecting rods balanced
kent cam
k&N filter
Exhaust manifold ported with exhaust wrap around it
just need a headgasket as i needed the head dowels, but have replaced them. you can see no wear bores or anything.

i presume you have a OHV valencia(if a MK2 fiesta ) or HCS (if a mk3 fiesta) engine
If you can, get a second head from a breakers, clean and lap in the valves properly, take it to an engineering firm and shave 20 thou of the head and fit it back on. wont give more than about 5 to 10 hp but the engine response will be excellent, will feel like a new engine. if done properly will make car sort of 1.4 performance in a medium size car.
the ohv engine you dont need to worry about timing as it is pushrod, haynes manual shows what to do, literally just rockershaft, head bolts, exhaust and inlet manifolds.
which carburettor have you got, is it a ford vv or a webber. if its what i think it is a webber, one of the webbers fitted to these has the second throttle opened by vacumm and the other webber opens it mechanically, the mechanical one is the one to have because the vacumm one is a eco model,
the fordd vv carb is excellent for aslong as it is in tune but most people cant do them.
