I Have no idea how much new genuine rear quarters are direct from ford. all i no is a wing from ford is £160, so i imagine there gona be almost double. u can get spurious panels from a company that makes hte rear quarters, they will be alot cheaper, its entirely up 2 u n how much ur bugdet is, personally id go genuine ford all the way.

with new rear quarters you have no rust when complete whereas with arch sections, there mite b rust that cud cum thru somewhere else on the quarter, ei: sills, B/C pillar etc.

yeh, for a first timer ur goin the rite way about ur bodywork, jus make sure ur down-grade all ur repairs:

P80
P180
P240
P320
P500

from the most coarse to the finest.
this will guarantee u wont be left with prepping marks and filler sinkage in ur final paint!!

i have started the filler work now, i have got pictures of my latest bit of faffing about, suppose i could upload them soon[lol]


as for the sanding pad's i got them from my local paint place and the sander i got off amazon[cool] does the job for what i am doing, but....... the sander i got was hook and loop(valcro pads) and i had to buy a adapter pad that allowed me to use sticky pads, then i had to have the thread on that adapter modified to allow it to work in the sander[cool]

i know what you mean, that da is the best thing i have bought for the body work[cool]

Cool, I saw one on ebay for use with sticky pads, so I might get that and get maself some sticky pads to sand the car down with..

Mine is coming along alright, I have just learnt how to properly prep before I paint so am gonna get it right down to bare metal properly soon as I get a sander :D
