when you modded the throttle body did you mod it enough, as marks escort had this problem, just needed to file a bit more off!

have you checked all breathers and vacumm connections.

The breather from the front of the block, round the Gbox side and though the little 'L' piece rubber tube connecting it on the the Inlet manifold sandwhich plate. (all on gearbox end of engine)

Two vacumm connections on the back of the inlet manifold.

How old is your fuel filter? plugs? leads on correct and tight?

yeah all breathers are fine.

as for fuel filter, im not sure but it was working fine with the old engine.

the spark plugs are brand new and the HT leads are practically new.

I think it may be the MAF as it is giving dodgy readings at low revs
