Hello fellow FSI members can any1 help me with this? I am wanting to know if any1 has any pics of a fitted strut brace to a MK3 1.6 SI 16V Zetec 94/95, I bought it a while ago but never got round to fitting it! I have sold the SI now and sold the Strut Brace, I was looking for pics to help the guy I sold it to fit it! Any1 here got any ideas!
I called Sparco and they told me it would def fit but I would have to screw holes in the struts then bold it on from there - a bit too much work if you ask me!

Easy to do really, but yes, you do have to drill your turrets. Just line up the strut brace in it's position and mark where the holes are. Obviously it wont be tight yet, but use it as a guide. Then drill the holes in, and treat it with kurust and paint over to stop them rusting away.

Fit strutbrace and bolt into position. Remember, drill the hole about 1mm smaller than the bolts you have so they can grip into the metal, otherwise your strutbrace will be loose and this will defeat the object of having one. Then simply tighten it up and away you go :)

Yeah I noticed that when I tried to fit it myself! I'll let the guy know that too!
One other thing, my engine is not the same as yours your is a DOHC mines was just the zetec model! The strut brace I sold also doesnt look the same shape as yours! Yours seems to be longer to the right after the kink! I know it will fit because it just took a little forcing and patience and am sure it'll be worth it, just glad I aint got that bother now!
Wish I hadnt sold my SI now, loved that car but was spending too much money on it and it had a little too much rust on it and didnt have the money to sort it all otherwise it was a good car! Been looking for a car ever since I sold the SI but just never seen anything yet but sure something will turn up that interests me! Want an FRST i think but want one thats obviously had a lot of work done on it already would rather buy one that been made pretty new rather than spend a whole load of cash fixing and upgrading things!

Thats just the Rocker cover that says that, they made some saying DOHC and some that said 16v ZETEC but is all the same. :)
