On the upside, it looks like you have a cat, so to unsuspecting person, youve got one.

0. Disconnect battery.

1. Jack up car and secure on axle stands. Do not work underneath a car supported on just a jack.

2. Remove horseshoe type frame from underneath car.

3. Undo nuts securing downpipe to manifold.

4. Undo u clamp securing downpipe to the rest of the exhaust.

5. Remove downpipe/decat

6. I used a crowbar and hammer, but use some sort of tool to knock out all stuff from inside the cat.

7. Dispose of stuff in cat properly...

8. And in true haynes style, Fitting is reverse of removal.

Job done.

did you have a echoy noise after removing all from inside the cat lol i did mine today and now its noisy lol but has helped as i have power again as the collapsed cat crap is gone paul good guide mate

Going to do this tomorrow to try to cure my lack of power issues, blocked cat was suggested. Does it change the exhaust noise?

it meks a difference to the pte cvh 1.4 i noticed but sounds echoy just mek sum straight pipe up from an old exhuast i did and it sounds fine now and is a tad faster at exceleration
