right then folks

thought it was about time someone wrote a guide on this

ok then,
asssuming you have bought an amp and sub and a wiring kit

first things first, with the amp wiring kit, if you have anything less than 2 guage wire for the live feed(posotive) and the earth you will need to scrapp the stuff that comes with it. A rule that i have come across is that anything thinner than this will melt after a few months, and on ly result in hassle.

right then
the majority of people will put there amp in the boot, if this is the case then this is the definitive guide for you

the wires you will need
-posotive
-negative
-phono
-amp remote

the posotive connection should go from the battery straight through the firewall to the back of the car, within 18 inches of if leaving the battery you will have to put a fuse, this will come with the amp wiring kit, run the cable down the inside of the car under the kick panel and carpet, to hide it.

remember, do not connect the posotive to the battery yet.

the posotive should then be connected to the correct port on the amplifier, you will now need to connect the earth to the correct port and attach this to a point with 20 inches of the amplifier, the less cable the better(this is so that any current will take this route rather than any other, as it is the shortest)

now remove your headunit, at the back of the headunit will be the wiring loom and some ports

Amp Remote wire-
this will need to be run down the opposite side of the car to the posotive lead. contained within the wiring on the back of the headunit will be a blue wire(normally) this will need connecting to the amp remote wire for the amp, once attached you may now connect it to the amp(make sure it goes in the correct port)

Phono leads- these will also need plugging into the back of the headunit, there will be two ports(one red and one white) they will normally have "sub" written above them. plug the phono leads into these and then run them along the same side of the car as the ap wiring lead, not the side of the posotive lead, to prevent interferencenow plug these into the corresponding ports on the amp.

you may now put the headunit back in and connect the posotive lead to the battery, you will need to make sure you trun the sub feature on your amplifier on,

thats it folks, here is a diagram to sum all i have said up.

if anyone notices anything that needs to be added just tell me, and ill do it.

comments appreciated

depends what wattage your speakers are, and what output the headunit has, i would always amp them if you have the capability, but you will need the necessary pre-outs from the headunti
