Well i joined yesterday and thought that i should post up some pics of my project far all to see , its not an si but im sure you will all agree that it is a good base for a project ,

Its a 1.1 classic quartz (96)
suspension
frst hubs/g-max frst shoxs and springs/frst arb/frst wishbones and carriers/1.6si rear beam with arb/frst calipers/xr2i 16v shafts and gearbox



engine / xr2i 16v 1800 zetec, soon to be full 130ps spec

interior
full 1400 si interior with grey leather frst steering wheel and mk4 ghia grey leather gearknob ,(soon to be replaced with full frst interior )

exterior
standard except for xr2i 16v top spoiler and 15" mk6 rs2000 wheels (also have 14" si steels for the ultimate sleeper look

any way here are the work in progress shots of the car , hoping to have the car finished for fitp 2007
car when i first got it






smooth boot is now on my 1400 si so my little sleeper is now totally standard on the outside and still looks quite standard on the inside due to the 1400 si interior ,only a few subtle things to give the game away like the frst steering wheel and the larger than 1.1 bore exhaust system that wil be fitted (standard xr2i 16v )

anyways , let me know what you think , looking for good honest opinions on the car or any critisisms that you may have

Sounds like you have done a shed load of mechanical work to the car to make it handle better, fair play to you.

orignal plan with the 1.1 classic was to make it look like an si as my dad had one when they were first released and have loved them ever since , bought a 1600 si about 2 years ago before i had a licence and it turned out to be completely rotten , sills,floor,raer arches wings ,boot ,slam panel ,looked ok when i bought it in the dark so i broke it and bought the 1.1 for the very cheap price of 50 quid (1 owner ,fully waxoiled from new ,garaged *heated*when i got it had mnor front end damage and no mot and had lay for 18months on the drive with no bonnet ,but was still good and clean except for 1 bad arch and a small scab on the drivers wing ,ended up fitting an si front bumper, smooth boot with mondeo spoiler ,zetec s rear bumper ,clear rears and a mondeo estate spoiler , but decided in about june last year to drop an 1800 zetec in and put the exterior back to 1.1 looks for some fun also have a 1.4 si in javablue/ontario blue/black/with an xr2i kit zs rear smooth boot mondeo spoiler and full xr2i 16v wingback interior as my runabout. In about may this year i will be looking for a nice 1600 si as a runabout and possibly future 2.0l project anyway ,enough of my fiesta life story here is a couple of pics of the si

small update , si is no longer for sale , have removed all the modded bits except the skirts and arches ,looks much better with si bumpers and standard boot ,

update on sleeper , ITS GETTING 2.0L DROPPED IN INSTEAD OF THE 1800 ,now i just need to find a 2.0l auto mondy and rob its engine pick up my deep ecu and matching maf , source a cheap but good si engine loom and get all the gaskets and assosiated other bits needed when doing the swap ( if anyone knows where i can get a full set of engine gaskets including head cheap let me know please) does anyone have the standard torque figures for the 1.8 105ps and the 2.0l 136ps ?just so i know what sort of difference im looking at

NOS arrived for both cars!!!!

Now i need to find some spare cash to insure the si as its off the road atm , then need some more spare cash to fund the purchase of a 2.0l engine , then some more spare cash for the gaskets and service items needed for the 2.0l before i drop it in ,

also i have a choice of 3 gearboxes

1. 1800 16v xr2i box

2. 1.1 c.f.i gearbox

3. s1 erst box ( no lsd )

any sugestions on what box to use would be apreciated (sp)
