just come back from the MOT and its failed as i expected. only ?150 to get it fixed this time but the guy who does it said that basicly this time next year the price will be astronomical due to the fact that the whole underside its rusted

obviously very upsetting but i really cant justify keeping it going, and i cant afford to buy a newer si and swap the stuff over.

so basicly its open season on the car, nothings deffinate yet but if theres enough interest i may strip it.

so people you know what its got, but for thoes who dont....

don't do it. that car is mint.
Just cos it need underside work doesnt mean it's the end of the road for it.
take it to a good bodyshop and talk to them about getting the underside sorted, cant see it costing too much mate

Get it sorted ASAP, if its not gonna cost that much & u love the car & don't wanna get rid of it. Do it! I'd do n e thing 2 keep my Si, no matter how much it cost me, I've already spent over what the cars worth in repairs but I don't care, the Si is my 1st car & love it 2 bits & don't wanna part from it 4 a long time yet.

just spend the money, at the end of the day its not gonna be worth anything in a year but who cares, its not the kind of car that you'll ever see the money back from.

im about to spend ?450 on bodywork for the front of my car, ?300 at the rear, ?550 on wheels, im never gonna see that kinda money back from the car, but im probably gonna have it for another year or two due to the fact that i've got no no-claims anymore so might as well throw a few quid at it and make the most of what i've got, do the same, you'll feel better once its done

yes you dont add mods to the car to increase its value, cause that doesnt happen, you do it because it makes you happy, and when your driving it down the street people turn and look. If you strip it and get what...say ?500, what you gonna do with that, buy a crap car that may also need money spending on it for repairs anyway. Cars are all the same, you have to keep throwing money at them to keep em going, if it was my si, i'd phone around and get the cheapest quote to get the work done, do some price matching if you have to, haggle !

really really sorry to hear this mate. do all you can to keep it, even if it does mean loosing a bit of cash, now that you have the car as you want it.

But before you decide on doing anything, just phone around, get some quotes for what needs doing, and just get an idea of your true position.

But if worst comes to the worst, do what you have to. It's not worth getting into alot of debt over a car.
