hi all, just purchased a cat-back exhaust system, it was kinda impulsive as i have no plans on fitting it :lol:
how much would it cost for a garage of some sort to fit it?
i could fit it myself, but i have no ramp, so i'd have to speak to my mates dads uncles friend whos sisters daughters boyfriends brother (you get the idea?) basically it'd be hard for me to fit, due to time/equipment (please suggest other safe ways of fitting the exhaust without a ramp)
im asking roughly what it'd cost, perhaps in peoples past experience

I had my full system fitted to my old Fiesta Zetec for £20, it is easy to fit so don't pay over £50 unless they have to change f@cked rubbers :)

rubbers cost pennies..

DIY is easy anough.. just alow a couple of hours

get some exhaust paste, new rubbers and nex exhaust clamps and your laughing

well easy job unless the clamps on there are corroded to hell

Just jack the car up, get under and unbolt your old one, and bolt the new one on! Piece of piss!

I did my Pulsar exhaust a few weeks ago. That was a nightmare, there's a subframe at the back which the exhaust goes over, so unless you have about 6ft clearance, you cant actually get the middle section out because of it. Luckily, I only needed to change the backbox. :)

But yeah, as people have said, make sure you have some paste to ensure a good seal, and might be worth getting some new gaskets. :)

to attach the cat it would need to go on a ramp, even then its almost impossible without taking off the cross member. I had this differcult task a few weeks ago and its not a nice job. The rest of the exaust from the cat back is easy and can be done without a ramp. Just remember to get paste and new clamps, you need a hammer too.

well done, can you tell me how? i tried to do it that way and found that you have to feed the cat through the cross member upside down lots of clearance from the floor for this, then try and turn it 180 degrees without the downpipe hitting alternator and starter motor. Couldnt be done, so on a ramp cross member off loads easier.
