yeah you can do it in a day. Its not hard just time consuming, you need to remove the cam belt to get to it.

took me and a very competent friend nearly 6 hours to do mine. basically you'll be better off taking engine out and doing it that way

f*ckin hell all that work!? damn if taking the whole engine out is the answer then im better off buying new engine, problem is wont get insured on a 2ltr at my age would i! would get a reconditioned 1.6 or maybe push a 1.8? what you guys reckon? damn this is hard to choose! soo much to do soo little money....

its not that hard to change a water pump. As i said ti takes time, if you have time then where the worry.
I woulnd't go as far as taking the engine out as that is 10 times more work.
just have a go at changing the pump.

just take your time, take a weekend if need be, leave plenty of time for daylight hours, remember it gets dark early now, and you dont want to get caught out losing bolts in the dark etc.

lock the camshafts and align everything properly, pop the engine mount off, pop the cambelt off and away you go

more movement of the height adjustment of engine.

there's a 10mm gap. the covers are 25mm deep at least.

the water pump pulley doesnt come off without jacking engine up a little.
