was driving down road other day. when all of a sudden the engine stopped responding to accelerator.
had the problem before, so knew it was TPS. checked connection, wiggled it, and it came back to life
couple of minutes after this it started running flat. started 'popping and farting' occasionally and generally just running poo.
limped it home. when i got home noticed idle was sat at 1.5-2Krpm
wouldnt budge from that. was smooth though, no misfiring
i've changed, coilpack, TPS, tried it with MAF unplugged, checked all breather connections, checked + cleaned plugs, and still no better. cant drive it.
i'm running out of ideas. gonna give it an oil, oil filter and fuel filter change tommorow/monday.
anyone got any ideas?
one other thing, its developed a slight tap on top end, sticky valve???

sack that response saying it was fixed. it wasnt fixed, just ran a touch better.
whoever said ECU deserves a pat on the back. it's now running on 1.6 ECU until i can source a 2.0 one

if its still idling high, could be same as what happened on mine. Idle speed control valve was proper stuck.

Took of the control valve bit held on with 2 screws, started engine breifly, loads of air came out of the valve, and it seem to free it all up, put it together and worked a treat.
