I recently posted on here that my car felt 'sluggish' on pull off and slow in general, although i think i have a problem with my clutch, i pulled off one of the leads on one of the plugs to have a look and the botom end of the lead was covered in orange colour, sooty dust kinda stuff. i am gona replace th plugs and leads, but will this orange stuff come back? and is this part of the reason why my car feels too slow?

any advice apprieciated (spelling)

Buy a Haynes and have a look. Year old spark plugs will have a light sandy dust coating to them if the engine is running fine and dandy. It's just deposits from the burn process.
If it's anything black/grey/oily then you need to worry.
I replaced mine with some new NGKs and it pulls a little bit smoother, haven't done the HT's yet, but your engine will always feel better for a few months with new bits in.

ok thanks, gona replace them and see if it makes ne difference, i got an old haynes manual for the mk1 fiesta i think and the description that matches what mine look like the closest is called: 'Lead Glazing' 'plug insulator firing tip appears yellow or green/yellow and shiny in appearance. often causd by incorrect carburation, excessive idling followed by sharp acceleration. also check ignition timming.' So perhaps the previous owner raced to many ppl at traffic lights.
