Hi guys and girls. Over the past 6 months life with my Si has been getting progressively worse, as soon as i fix something, something else breaks. It eats rad fan switches for instance (I've fitted 3 since i bought it) and its not been running right for a while now and I can't seem to solve the problem.

I suppose with 112,000 miles on the clock and 11 years on the road under its belt these things can only be expected but its really got me down and sadly i've decided to sell.

So last week after a bit of number crunching I placed an order for one of these...

6 - 8 weeks delivery, so im looking at late Sept/early Oct. I'll be sad to see the Si go, more so after getting it in Performance Ford at the beginning of the year, but I really do think there comes a time when its not feasible to hang on to them any more, its not gonna last forever, and things are only gonna get worse with it

Apart from the recent problems, its been a great little car and i've had a lot of fun driving it. Its got me all over the country, i've been to Scotland, London, Kent and Cornwall in the last 12 months alone and its never actually let me down...it's just all these annoying niggly bits that in the end get out of hand.

Never mind eh?

Well chap, these things happen. You've done well with the Si, especially getting it featured in a magazine, and you done the site proud with doing it

Sorry to see the Si go, but you've made a good decision to buy a ZS. Get yourself signed up on ZSOC once you've got it.

Scotty Boy, I've gone for Moondust, Petrol, with visibility pack (heated screen, electric/heated mirrors) Mp3 socket, sunroof and the "Copper Abyss" interior as I prefer the bright interior compared to the grey one, although im not sure it'll be to everybodys taste.

The reason I didn't go for the ST, even though its only about ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1k dearer, is purely to do with the insurance, its group 13 as opposed to group 7 for the Zetec S and its looks virtually identical so i figured its the best of both worlds

Paul, I have signed up to ZSOC only posted twice so far though lol I'll probably get into it more when I get mine. As for a buyer, im going PX against the deposit on the new one, they've offered ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£500 and it saves a lot of messing around so I'll probably go with that.

I definately won't forget about this place tho! Im sure I'll still be here

Nice choice dude. I'd of had the Diesel though, but they are excellent cars! You should come over to sixfields once you have a (more) reliable car that will go long journeys. :wink:

I'd have gone with Ry and chosen the diesel. I'd have also gone ST purely for the higher resale value when it comes round to selling it on. Stil, it will prove to be a good car like you said, sporty looks without the sporty insurance costs. :insanity:

Options you've picked are great for UK weather and I often find myself cursing the purchaser of my car as it doesn't have heated screen or mirrors.

How long is the anti-corrosion warrenty? :lol:
