I have an alarm in my si ( it looks like a factory fitted 1) and it dosent work I have the key fob (the battery is fine cuz a light comes on on the key fob when i press the button ) and key to switch it on and off but when i press the button i get nothing
1 of the little sensors has been pulled off inside the car so i tried to connect it back up and then try but still nothing
if i disconnect the battery (negative i think) and just press the bolt on the leads to the terminal my indicators flash and it makes a noise but when i tighten it back up nothing happens :? :?

any help appreciated

if it is a factory one sounds like the recevers gone down in other words its erm f*^ked,

but try finding the power and earth for the lill box and c if its connected or not making a good connection :)

if its infra red (has a diode sticking out of it like an LED but white in colour), get your mobile phone or any digital camera, point your camera at the infra red bit and press the button, it should glow bright white to the digital camera, (not visible to human eyes).

when you reconnect the battery the alarm is obviously being reinitialised / restarted as it is beeping showing its come on.

Does the unit have an external ariel that you can tell of or is it just one black box??

the key fob is just a black box wiv a button and wen u press it the red light flashes ( no white LED thru a camera lens
as far as i can see it is just a black box wiv several wires coming from the bottom mind you i dont know where the external ariel would be if it had 1
