hi there finnaly got the SI yesterday great i love it far better than the 1.3 few of my mates are impressed kept at the side of my mates Almera GTI and he wasnt going know where there 145bhp but then my other mate in his clio sport just over took us in his 190bhp.

any way to the question iam going to get megasquirt for my car as any one got this and what sort of performance you get also any probs heard alot of good things any tips would help as my mate can build the kit and has sort of bit of knowledge how to set it he a computer geek !! lol your help would be appreciated tar !!

Why are you wanting to run it? You'll get no performance gain from it. There's nothing wrong with the Ford EEIV management that's on your car.

i want to run it because i can fine tune every part of the engine throught my laptop as we drive so i can squeeze extra rpm and loads more. what you saying scotty is that there is no point in it so why should people get superchips then ???????? you should get same if not more power out of megasquirt at the quarter of the price!!!!! also help your engine run healthier !

can i have some other peoples point off view who drive the car that this forum is made for !!

you are just being argumentive and not helping !!

so what you are saying you cannot put megasquirt on a zetec !! well theres a very long post on fiesta turbo i found yesterday saying it fits and theres a better improvment than any other chip or superchips and you can re-mapped it over 10,000 times every one rates it on there and this was based on a 2.0 zetec 16v si !!!

Do you understand the difference between management and piggy-back chips because you keep comparing the two as though they were comparable?

Any flash memory can be reprogrammed, this isn't unique to MS.

I'm not saying you can't put it on. I'm saying what's the point on your standard 1.6 Zetec? Just because Asad's used it with results doesn't mean if you run it on your car, you're going to see any major benefits.

If I were you I'd put a 2.0 in it, *then* get Megasquirt, and only if you'd modded that 2.0 with cams, throttle bodies etc.

Putting Megasquirt (or any kind of mods for that matter) on a 1.6 zetec engine is a waste of time.

Get the 2.0 in... then play about with it.
