In Germany, on the autobahn, I had an indicated 137 on a slight downhill in my 2.0 Si (I realise you asked about the 1.6 though).

As most speedos read about 10 out at that kind of speed, I was probably doing around 127.

i did ask bout the 1.6 but i am interested in 2.0 litre thinkin bout gettin the conversion done early next year but worried about reliability! was that on the 1.6 gearbox (127mph) ???

127 indicated, on the flat, with a passenger. Thats a 1.6, on a private test track obviously

Yes mine was the 2.0 engine with the 1.6 gearbox. I was flat out at 7000rpm, but only for a very short time, I try to look after my car :)
