Was a great race and overall great weekend, was in the stand on club corner.

Never quite sure what is more satisfying with pictures like that.

1, Getting the picture
2, Knowing there where many around you with kit costing much more with no idea how to use it not getting the picture, I really struggled to not laugh when a guys flash popped up and then said to his mate "maybe I should try sport mode", did bother me as he had a brilliant lens (in theory better than what I was using).

Oh and watch out wearing yellow, I had a jordan F1 top on and got swarmed by pollen beetles, luckily I had a spare black marussia top in my bag.

Hey Percy,

I was in Club Corner too!! What seat were you in??

I did have a bit of lens envy going on looking around me, but I'm glad to say my flash never popped up lol...although I was lazy and did just leave it in Sport mode...sacrilidge I know :p

Was a good race that's for sure, had a quick look through my photos this afternoon and need to have a good look through and get rid of the dross but seem to have a few good ones too ;)

From memory Q433.

I don't get lens envy any more as I know I can do more than many of them with my limited kit (Canon 55-250mm used for info).

I actually took over 6000 pictures many of which are rubbish, I could have just bumped the shutter speed and froze motion and got loads of clear shots but in motorsport thats a no no, so used a slower shutter and try to match the car as it goes past, so those of the pics are from luffield to which I took usually 7-11 pictures as they flew past and 1 in 25 would be good, knowing this I took so many to be sure but have ended up with more than needed, will short list and delete many.

Ahh...cool, I was E353.

I was using my mums Nikon 70-300 lens which is good for close up but as you say trying to match speed and get a crisp shot is hit or miss. I think I took about 3000 over the weekend and deleted as I was going (mostly ones with the bloody poles in the way!) so have ended up with around 2000 to sift through.

We were at village for qualifying and got some good shots there as its a slower corner!

Only problem now is finding time to sit and go through them all lol

Paul

Year shooting from club did end up with poles, with that my luffield pics are through wire fence, set your camera right and get close enough and the wires are gone. I showed the wife and she couldn't believe it looking through the view finder panning how the wires didn't exist. That was the funny point as my lens hood was up against the mesh (occasionally hitting it) while a few other 'photographers' joined me but all stood back from the mesh, part of me wanted to tell them but it was much more amusing to watch,I wonder if they looked at me and though "fool trying to shoot through the gaps" when in reality due to understanding with settings and proximity there was no mesh.
