Done another track day today and broke the gearbox! Fault started with only getting 2nd and 4th, Now stuck solid in 3rd, looks like need another gearbox but decent bc ones getting hard to find and mine currently has a RS lsd, what's options? Rebuild mine, buy another standard bc one, what's option with fitting later ib5 mk4 or puma box ?

Ive had the old gearbox collapse into third gear managed to limp it home with intense clutch slip.
I like the pretty sparkly oil that comes out when you pop a shaft? if the case is okay go for up uprated bearing rebuild, theres a quaife box on ebay right nown

Could go down the mtx 75 route

Ended up just rebuilding the original box with a new bolt and repaired the selector, refilled with castrol syntrans oil which was the most expensive bit! Rebuilt the short shift to and now gear selection is the best its ever been, just wish I had the LSD refurbished now.

But finally think this may be the last year for the fiesta as getting a bit rough and replace with a new track car
