Update time
So a few things have happened to the cossie over the last few weeks
first off, i stripped some bits out of my bay to have them powder coated

while the bay was clear of stuff Tom kindly jet washed it for me

i gave the bulk head divider a lick of paint, it'll do until i can find a replacement that's in better condition

onto my next task, while the bay was getting jet washed i noticed how bad my steering bush was....it was hanging!!

so i bought a landrover replacement to butcher so i could use the rubber from it

took the linkage off the car to remove the old rubber

i then stripped the new one

rebuilt the old one and no i didnt paint it

refitted it

while my old engine was apart i had a boss welded into my sump for my oil temp sensor, i didnt want to remove my magnetic sump plug

while all that was happening i went and collected a few bits

a few weeks later, my powder coated bits arrived back with me, as did my billet cam pulley bolts to go with my cam pulleys and a massive order from matt lewis ( no pics)

i didnt get many pic's of the engine going back together, only pic i got was this of the pulleys etc about to be fitted

the beginning of march my bottom end went in with the help of baz and a few mates

i was then away in cardiff over the middle of march, but when i got back it was game on....i'll let the pics do the talking for a bit

tanks, alt and piping started going on

mounted my new coil pack bracket

after some jigging and poking the head went on

cam's and cambelt were next

i had dropped my rocker cover off with baz to have it skimmed, few pic's before it was fitted

rocker cover, inlet , few hoses and swirl pot were then fitted
i had to drop my secondary manifold off with baz as a stud had snapped inside it ,az helped me remove it and then heli coil the manifold for me ( no pics of this)

engine bay pretty much complete

i started working on the saph on sunday and i was at this stage by tuesday eve, which is where some issues came about!
i had a horrific noise when i started it up! i thought it was a bottom end knock baz and another mate of mine popped over to have a listen with me, it wasnt a 100% given if it was a bottom end knock or not but i needed to remove the sump anyways to find out what was what as i could of also been the cramk hitting the pick up pipe
so thursday i spent all day on my back with the sub frame on my chest, crawling in and out of engine crane legs and generally being tight on space, stressed and frsustrated, i did find this though

the rod bolt on no.2 was hitting the pick up pipe, so that was sorted checked and triple checked!! after dicking about and nearly giving up the sump went on!
baz helped me get the sub frame, tcas and the starter on so we could turn it over and listen for the noise, which had luckily gone
on friday afternoon i ran her up to temp and made sure the fans cut in
had my first test drive on sat to make sure everything was ok :mrgreen:
booked back in for mapping with nms on the 15th of april
