Been a while since I last updated my thread.

For those of you unfortunate enough to be on my facebook/instacunt accounts you'll already know that my saph is dead again.

Run down of the story it's been fine all year even after my core plug popping out and pissing all my coolant everywhere

I did also leave my oil filler cap off which resulted in near on ALL oil going walkies down a dual carriage way while ripping a skybus a new one ( i nearly " killed" sam in the process )

Anyways I ordered a new oil filler cap, all was good!! luckily the engine seemed fine , About 2 weeks after that it randomly started missing on start up for about 20-30 seconds

I at first thought it was my plugs, so gave them a clean.....this made very little difference

Anywhooo....I drove it to a pistonheads meeet where it still missed on start up but cleared, no miss firing on boost etc either! but I was starting to lose water now

So bank holiday Monday this happened......I ripped shonky apart expecting to find a blown HG as plug no.3 was wet on cylinder 3

The head was removed in a few hours

The HG was fine, there was no damage or signs that it had blown at all...... soooo....onto options 2 and 3......cracked block or cracked head.....

Bores on cylinder 3 seemed perfectly fine... so onto the head....

nice crack was found in the combustion chamber of cylinder 3 , alex aldo found some cracks on the valve seats! handy

So i'm in the process of not giving a fuck for a while , engine is coming out and a fresh one being built , but first off I've got to get the head checked to see if it is repairable or not

on the plus side I've bought a set of slim line fans, proper turbo damper ( no pics) and some carbon roof strips

well you said it needed a engine refresh, just maybe not so soon

she'll be back

It's been on the cards for a while ! I was hoping it would last a bit longer

I'm more gutted that I cant use it as a wedding car this weekend or in the new year

I'm taking my time on this engine build

Shame to see the car have these problems, but once a rebuild is done you'll hopefully have no major issues

]Sooooo after neglecting the saph for a few months I decided to pull my finger out and actually do some bits and pieces to it

1st up my cylinder head..... yeah that's scrap! sooooo I had to find another one, standard ones on ebay were going for £800 and were still of an unknown quantity :roll: , luckily i knew a man with a dog and after his cylinder head passing a few tests it was passed over to me

The head was last worked on by Karl Norris @ NMS! i needed to check with them that the head was going to be suitable for my spec, which luckily it was
