Hi, not sure if this counts as a guide, but might give people some guidance,

I have uploaded a large selection of megasquirt base maps to my server,



As Onslack knows i have been tinkering with megasquirt for a while now in preparation for my blacktop turbo (27th march is the install date )
I have gathered a large selection of maps to help me workout the best Engine constraints,cold start,spark advance,AE,Warmup enrichment,over run,prime etc. etc.
on my server you will find a few maps which i am using on my and my friends car as well other other maps people are using on there cars, as well as alot of base maps which you can use to get your car started, please do not attempt to install one of these maps and drive around without some sort of wideband to monitor AFR, every engine is different and one standard engine map isn't necessary transferable to a similar engine in another car (however it may get it running and driving okay for you to tune it your self)

if you need any help getting your megasquirted fiesta up and running feel free to give me a shout

The map i am currently running is the Zetec-Fiesta-Rs1800 map, this is the result of hundreds of miles tweaking with a wideband to get my car driving as good as if not better than standard with 30+mpg cruise economy and a good strong powerband to 7200rpm limiter, a great base map for a standard 1.6 1.8 2.0 engine, it has the pwm settings for the icvs which took a long time to get working right,

i wont be needing any of them now as ive decided to break my mk2, but this will come in handy to a fair few people

its good to share them matey, errr quick question is megasquirt easy to install? as basically i'm currently building my xr2i that has a 115ps gti escort engine in there, and has some bolt on mods but i don't think the standard 105 ecu will be enough, what do you think i'll need and what map would suit it?

yeah i have 2.0 cams, a decent 4 branch exhaust manifold and k&n induction kit (i know not gonna do much but hey it was free lol!) also a 2.0 throttle body, probably may run a decat pipe, and also has a decent exhaust system with smaller silencers! how much will i be looking for to get megasquirt and probably knowing me get it installed by someone professional.

hrm yeah with that kinda spec a 105 ecu will probably just aid in melting your exhaust valves or pistons,

right now there is a megasquirt 1 v3 on ebay for |£200 buy it now, i was thinking of buying as a spare as they are around £350 new,

i bought a brand new megasquirt 1 v2,2 for £200 but then had to source an edis 4 unit and modify my ecu to run the edis unit for spark advance,

its all very well paying a "professional" to install your megasquirt but if it breaks youll never know how it works and will have to take it back and you cant be sure if they install it right, it could be very costly, especially if you take it to a tuning place with rolling road these guys will charge you a kidney and a lung to install from scratch,

i thought i felt my ears burning! lol well at the minute the xr2i i have has the external edis loom, i am going to get a internal edis wiring loom so i can run either the escort gti ecu or the 2.0 ecu. megasquirt would be nice, can you do finance lol

Soooo does anyone have any more maps i can add to the collection,
also does anyone have any zetec turbo maps that have been mapped on the rollers?
im trying to make a good base map before i take the car on the rollers for a proper mapping

sadly due to lack of funds i switched my server off(i didnt pay the bill), but yes, i have a vast selection of megasquirt maps and am very knowledgible on zetec and zetec turbo maps and setups
my home build 1800 zetec turbo on decomp plate is pushing about 230bhp hand mapped and has been going strong for 2 years now
