Cheers matey, just suit the car better with the 18s, thought the 17s looked too small on it, can belive they sold the SE cabs with 16s!

Got a slightly firmer ride now due to the lower profile but it seems more stirdy when cornering which is a bonus.

Hello. Something I have been wanting to do for ages is hollow out my cats as there so restrictive on the system and dont get tested like a petrol on an MOT. Ive alway been worried that it will smoke more without them but I was wrong! Pulled the exhaust off and and hollowed out the massive main cat and also the pre cat which is bolted to the turbo. The result is more torque lower in the rev range pulling all the way through the revs and more power, it revs more like a petrol now! I also get a nice turbo spooling noise from the exhausts now which is good! Next im gunna see about removing the back boxes with a pipe so it leaves me with one silencer on the exhaust!

Smoked less due to exhaust not passing through 120k's worth of shit!!

Smokes less, revs better, pulls better. Didnt realise I didnt have a DPF as such on this which means no sensors to worry about when doing this!

Cheers mate, im very suprised at the difference it has made. I origionly just removed the innards of the pre cat but that did nothing so I spent yesterday removing the insides of the main cat which measures about 50cm long and 30cm wide/high (its big lol) and that has just made a whole world of difference.

suprisingly the whole exhaust is in really good condition and is still all the original stuff, not sure if its all stainless as there is no rust on it! Gunna see how well my welder is and gunna have a go at cutting the back boxes and wlding a pipe inside if I notice any improvement to the car ill be looking into a full turbo back exhaust for it

Hello, i have not put an update on here for ages and nothing has changed lol

Nothing exciting but i've done a complete front suspension refresh to the car. I half of this about a year ago with cheap arms and they gave up within a year so i have bought Meyle HD control arm which have a 4 year warranty and are highly recommended by all the Audi forums but they were not cheap! I have also bought A4 B5 suspension perches which the springs rest on which lowers the front another 10-15mm along with Gen Audi shocks and Lemforder inner track rods.

Car finished, happy now the front sits lower than the back unlike before (didn't get a before pic but got loads of photos on here of it before lol)


Car feels 100x better due to everything else being on there from new and the cars on 167k! hopefully wont need to change any of this again, took about 12 hours due to seized pinch bolts holding the top arms to the hub

Cheers guys, initial idea was to lower the car with springs when I did this but ended up with the perch option as dont want to make the ride harsher than it already is as we have a baby due in 2 months!. So the perches seemed the better option for the time being to give me the better stance on a standard set up. Will be doing both front wheel bearings soon and then a rear suspension refresh!. Im loving the car again, handles so well compared to before lol

Adam Ill prob be on 180k by the end of this year due to the miles im doing at the moment

I'd be happier doing that level of mileage on a big engine like yours - not a 1.25

DPF removal on Diesels is now an MOT failure. Wondering if what you did is the way forward. Just bore out the DPF so it looks factory on the outside and not a straight through pipe.

Hello, havnt put much on this in a while as tbh with the arrival of my son nothing has changed!

Last Thursday I came out to my car in the morning to be greeted with this




and a note on my windscreen saying "I'm so sorry, I reversed into your car as I didn't see it my number is ......." I was shocked that she left her number. Called her up and she said she was sorry again and wanted to settle it with cash, after going to a few body shops and getting quotes of £800+ and needing a hire car added aswell she decided on going through insurance instead. Car was taken away Monday and they have said parts should be in by today.

On the plus side that wing had been badly resprayed in the past so it needed re paining anyway, they are also replacing the front headlight for me as it had weathered! May even be refurbishing the wheel.

anyway I have this as my hire car

it's a lexus IS300H with is a 2.5 petrol hybrid with 220bhp. It's very nice to drive and has so many gadgets to play with but I still miss driving the Audi. This is just boring to drive, it's a semi auto trip tonic with a flappy paddle gearbox, auto everything. Again I'm shocked I got given it as a hire car though lol

anyway I should be getting the Audi back next week.
