Track: Curborough Sprint Track, WS13 8EJ

Dates available: Friday 6 th June 2014

Time: I’ll be opening the gates at 10am and closing them at 5pm. I'll need to know who is coming, even if you are just a spectator so let me know.

Cost: £600 – 10 of us on the long track would equal £60 each, 15 on the short track equals £40 each. We don't need to hit 10, so 8 cars would be £75 each but we'll see as last time is was very popular. The first 10 payment will be due in full.

Format: Everyone takes it in turns; nothing is timed and only one car on the track at a time. Helmets are optional and passengers just need to sign a consent form. A sound check will be done mid-morning so make sure your exhaust is track friendly.

In the morning we each go out and do 6 laps each (around 5 minutes each) and as the day goes on, you’ll find the track is used less and less so if you wish to hammer it around to your heart’s content, you usually can. No promises here though as we need to keep it fair.

Typically you’ll find lower powered, smaller cars with longer gear ratios are the most fun on this track but you'll have a hoot whatever you're in. There’s no pressure, you just do what you want to do. Percy will be on hand with the video equipment and they’ll be at least one GoPro that anyone can use to record their laps if they wish.

Bring a food/picnic, your breakdown cover, tools/jack, fluid, water and anything else you may need. There will be shelter available if it does rain, which is right next to the track.

There's already talks of a Sixfields than evening as well so watch this space.

If we get more people than we can cope with, we can look at booking a second date slightly later in the year as well.

You can't hire them on the day, Ry goes to pick the keys up from someones back garden and you all play! the sound guy comes half way through the day.

Its literally just turn up and play, you don't have to have a helmet and tbh don't need one.

I will mirror some of what Ry said, yes its a shared track but from the last one I don't know of any point where anybody felt hard done too.

In short if there is nothing on the track and its clear off you go if there is a q join the back, as a genal rule we where doing 3 laps so the wait is never long, I think Chris did the most mileage on track last time.

The track isn't too high speed as its short and due to this shortness it really is fun in any car, its more about refining technique as I know where where all quicker round by the end of the day last time.

It isn't a huge stress on cars, its essentially 2 minutes hard driving and then a rest so a road setup/tyres/brakes is all good.

In short its probably the best day you can have for people like us.

Random question, and I suspect the answer is no, but do they allow bikes on track at the same time?

I'll ask but I think you can. As it's only one vehicle on the track at any one time, it shouldn't matter what it is and bikes have been on before.
