I'm skint, in a bit of debt, and as I drive 3 miles a day to work I don't need a car so she's gotta go

I should be all sorted by this time next year so I plan to get a new fez again then but until I get myself sorted I can't afford to run a car basically!!
It fucking blows! And will be the first time in 15 years I haven't owned a car!!

Can still drive the mrs car but will really miss my fez!

Right well there were no takers on the car so I've got a reprieve from selling it

So started doing some work on bits that I have bought but never got round to doing.
Rough plan is as follows:
Change gearbox
Fit genuine lower arms as one of my bushes has popped
Do zetec inside gear linkage mod
Change clutch quadrant again!
Derust and paint underneath as I go
Fix oil leak from oil pressure fittings
Swap out coil overs for old shocks to sell coilies
Sort out wiring problem I've got with starter (dodgy earth I think!)

That'll do for a start, so far I've removed exhaust, starter, starter wiring, gear linkage and have drilled out linkage.
Just need to get the ends of my 8mm bar tapped straight, it keeps going squint lol!! I officially hate threading bar!!

Going to try and do some more tonight and will be spending most of tomorrow on it. Want it up and running by Monday!! Time will tell

Got a lot done yesterday. Have changed one coil over over but the top nut is a different thread so need to get new ones.
Lower arms are out and gearbox is out.
Plan now is to swap over all the gearbox gubbins and then degrease, clean and paint what I can now see underneath.

Looks bloody cold outside just now though so might wait a bit before going out

Well, a cheeky wee 3 1/2 hours done tonight! Just back in the house now.
Got everything swapped over from the old box to the new one. Changed the clutch over for a new AP Borg one and then put the new box on. New rings on the drive shafts and popped them back in too!

All I need to do now is:
Stop some of the oil leaks around the pressure sensor.
Change over the lower arms (tidying up the carriers as I go!)
Swap the drivers side coilover for the old strut
Trial fit the 4 pots to see if they fit under my wheels in case they don't sell
Reconnect up starter battery etc tidying up all earth points and connection as I go
Refit exhaust
Complete zetec inside linkage mod
Refit linkage
Fill gearbox with oil
Then hope that the box isn't completely shagged

Simples

Anyway I'm fucked so I'm off to bed. Wish me luck getting in without waking the wife up......

Yup, on your back bench pressing a gearbox beats going to a gym too!!

I'm glad I've got the drive tbh, change the head gasket on the street and that extra 20 feet was a right pain the the arse lol

Then im really blessed with my garage bridge :-)

I do have a garage too, its just full of crap and has no hope of fitting the car in LOL!!

Got some more done last night.
Gearbox cradle is now back on
Gear linkage mod complete and back on the car, just needs set properly for the gearbox. Feels much tighter.

One thing that I have noticed is there is quite a lot of twisting movement on the gearstick, does anyone else have this?
