does anyone know if a escort gti 115ps engine will fit straight into my si. iv got the opportunity to buy everything keys ecu the lot for 150 quid.

I kno everyone will say no point get a 2.0. it's just a daily iv got a civic ek4 for a toy so no need to go daft with the fez

In short for it wont be a straight swap, you will need a lot of parts from a zetec fiesta.

Have a look here, the change from a 1.6 CVH to 2.0 Zetec is the same as a 1.4CVH to 1.8 Zetec as the engines are the same style.

thanks for that. lot of readin but helpful. surely however it'd be more like a puma conversion on a mk5 as the mk3 came with the same 1.8 zetec that's in the xr3i and gti the other thing is although it's an si it only has a 1.3 engine. guy before unable to insure the 2.0 it previously had.

The bigger problem more or less everything attached the the 1.8 won't be the correct fittings for the fiesta, hence the general rule of you get the 1.6 zetec fiesta and basically swap the block with a 1.8 or 2.0.

As the guide points out you need a to basically rip out everything and then put a suitable fiesta fit zetec.

sound so as it says with the mounts the hole is already there it mentions a grey plug whereas the original is black is this in the middle of the engine bay behind a plate on the bulkhead. as I think from what I can see that's black and there are slot of unused plugs. goin back to the previously had 2.0

I've fitted a 1.8 gti engine into my 1.1 mk3, you need

sump and oil pickup pipe from the 1.6 zetec (the splash guard might also be needed I can't remember for sure now. done this a couple years ago now...) and the engine mount.

if you are lucky to have a earlier model with the pats being external of the ecu, then you can get any 1.8 model zetec ecu dated before 1994, I am running 2fcd on mine

I also have the escort gearbox in mine using the shafts from the 1.1, no running problems
