Hi

I have a 1300 single point injection mk3, and eventually want to 2 litre silvertop, but for now i need the car and just want to do little steps so the car is off the road as least as possible so my plan was to go si 1600 zetec while i build up a decent spec 2 litre and get the last couple bits to convert it. So my question is am i right in thinking if i was to get a 1600 si dona car and strip my engine bay down and then just move the si bits in to mine, or is it more simple to just buy the bits i will need.

Thanks Ben

If you can get a cheap 1.6 Si rotter then go for it, it would certainly be easy knowing you have everything you need.

Remember that there are also the late 1.6 Ghias which have the Zetec engine in them, they may be easier to get hold of as they aren't an "Si".

Any engine change is easier with a donor car sitting next to your car as you can see how everything mounts and what runs where.

Off the top of my head parts you would need are:
Engine block, exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, injectors, radiator, hoses, wiring loom, ECU, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines, engine mounts, and there are probably more.

You possibly can use your tank, I didn't twig that you had injection at the time I was writing the above, would maybe need a bit more digging as I'm only going on what I can remember about what I have read online as I have never had to go from Carb/SPI to EFI so don't know for sure what is needed tank wise.

Cheers

No a Mk3.5 Ghia a Mk4 will have a Zetec-S engine which is no use.

Any 16v Mk3/Mk3.5 fiesta will give you what you need to get a 2.0 in your car
