Couldn't stay away from the Honda scene. Went French thinking a Renault Megane would suit me and what a pile of crap it was. This came up at a good price so thought 'meh, why not?'.

Spec list includes:

RBC Inlet Manifold with Hondata Gasket
Japspeed Exhaust Manifold
AEM Intake
Full DC Sports Exhaust system
Hondata K100 mapped at TDI North.
Other random bits like HIDs, Earthing kit, countersunk washers, white cocker cover, after market gear knob etc.







The plan is to just keep it over the Autumn/Winter and then what I feel like next Spring.

It's a bit tatty paint wise, a few dings, wheels are lightly kerbed, yellow callipers (why?) but it should do. I'll clean it up as much as possible and it may give me some financial breathing room to enjoy track days again once I've sold most of the DC2 parts (fingers crossed!)

It is surprisingly quick. Maybe not the 241BHP the TDI North graph suggests but more 220bhp/230bhp max. And it's VERY loud...

Lou - can fit in about 7/8 bags of shopping in there and the rear seats go flat so lots of room if you need it - more space than a 3 series boot but less space than my teg/FN2 CTR, etc.

it's not, I replaced mine with another 1.8 B series bottom end, these are the newer K series engines so a lot more sophisticated though you don't get the savage 'b series kick' when going into vtec, it's all rather smooth and civilised.. until you put a stonking big exhaust and air filter on them.

Adam you're close with saying 170 lb/ft isn't there until 6000rpm, but as you can see it does have a steady 150 lb/ft through the whole range so I think the 'torquless wonder' of the B series doesn't seem to apply for the K series.



I'm not making any big decisions about keeping it long term until I can give it a thorough inspection at the weekend. This baby could be my new track day toy though.

The grill is going for the standard item. Loads of little things to change if it becomes worth it.

Quite enjoy driving it at the minute Gear stick location is uber sweet now I'm used to it - crazy Japanese coming up with GENIUS simple things like this is a win.

I do love these!! And as much as people slag off VTec you cannot beat that gutteral sound of the cams shifting and hell opening up.
