I've got a Baileys catch tank fitted - the rocker cover has 2 outlets - one goes to the baileys catch tank and one goes to the standard setup?

Without spamming Ry's thread too much, where do both them pipes go exactly?

One clearly goes to the catch tank, but where does the other one go to? Because it splits off into two, where do both them ends go?

the other one (right hand one) connects to the breather coming off the airfilter hose and that goes around to the back of the inlet

I don't get why it's going back to the inlet, that's probably where the problem is. The breather system should vent to atmospheric pressure, or a catch tank - to catch oil.

You're essentially creating a negative pressure in a positive pressure area - I think. My brain is almost half dead this morning so don't blame me if I'm wrong at the moment lol

Danny is right. The breather to the inlet manifold needs to be blocked off. Mine isn't as I haven't got around to getting the fabrication work done, but I know it should be.

I bought a catch can from eBay before I understood that 95% of them on there have tiny ports and are fairly useless for any kind of setup like this.

I'll update the thread when I start taking the engine apart, but I still need to find a good runaround first.

Feel free to keep posting though, I don't mind, more information on the forum for others the better and it isn't too O/T.

ok i'll have to look into blocking it off!

speaking to rob/stu last night - on his supercharged st and rob's when it was turbo'd the breathers were set up differently to mine

they suggested trying running both rocker cover breathers to the catch tank - and putting a bung on the air filter breather and the inlet one to see if that sorts it

Well yeah, that's basically what I was saying lol. The rocker to inlet one is the problem, it should be vented to atmosphere

Sold my mugen suspension last night so taking that off over the next few days and then I will be breaking the whole car once I find a new little runabout.

When you spend 5 figure sums on cars and you still can't drive it far without fear of something happening you know its a lost cause. I'm not living my car life like that far too many faster standard cars to enjoy owning. So that's it nearly. End of an era or so it feels.

Tis a mighty shame, never got a passenger ride either, but 1000's on sonething you feel is tempramental is a hassle.

Yeah it is a big shame. I tried with it, I really did. But the more money I spent the more it just wanted to shit on me.

I'm just looking at cars under the £1k bracket for now as a runaround so I can rebuild the savings that never were, but I think I'm sold on getting an RS4 by the end of the year.
