That's a fair point Phil, you'd ideally need a dyno to check, but the load is different on a dyno compared to the road so even then it may not show up.

I know what you're saying Des, and your car is slightly more unique and you've been through a lot, but there are a few garages out there that do know what they're doing... They just aren't always local, a little pricey and to me personally (like it is for you), it's a trust thing.

Yeah, the trust thing is my biggest concern. I once went to a agrage I'd used for the Fiesta a lot, for an MOT. They didn't tell me they take the car elsewhere so when I asked if I could wait with it, they said it'd take about 4 hours! As I was talking about this, a lad came running into the office, spouting "Yeah, Pulsar, Pulsar, I'm taking it!"... Err, no you fucking ain't lad! As if you'd drive it straight to the garage for MOT. Prick. Since then it goes nowhere other than the place that does the MOT's, good lads there. But only basic stuff.

I know it's unfair to tarnish all garages as the same, but I've yet to find any others I trust leaving it with....

took the car on a newly surfaced road hit some real good speeds and no vibrations but noticed on roads with slight right hand bends no vibrations but lefthand bends vibrations and straight vibrations except the new surfaced road

Sounds a bit like mine at the moment. The replacement driveshaft should sort that - cv joint probably gone. But I can't get the hub nut off lol

well after contacting a few plp on here about if the si had a balancing weight on the n/s driveshaft everyone i asked said yes, as the motor factors driveshaft was said to be pre balanced but on both new n/s shafts there was no balancing weight, so i got hold of a second hand genuine ford driveshaft yesterday and fitted a new cv joint and car seems 75% better thatas as close as im going to get with it still a slight vibration but a lot better than it was

right vibrations still there been looking at forums for other cars with the same issue and seems a common problem when running universal spacers on the front, ive got 6mm ones and apprently that will cause the front wheels not to sit ccentre on the hub which makes sence

so i need some hubcentric front spacers to sort the problem ( need spacers due to cosworth brakes) cant find them in the smaller sizes and seem to only start at 16mm with longer studs which isnt a problem just worried about wheel arch rubbing, ive had the lips of the front wings completely trimmed off but may still catch slighly on the xr/rs front plastic arches, anyone know anyone with big spacers on the front?

Bloody spacers!! If they're even half a mm out of centre you'll notice that at higher speeds.

I have ran 20m hubcentrics with no issues in the past.

It was on the Saxo, but the same physics apply no doubt.

As mentioned with hub centrics the wheel will be perfectly aligned but further out, with normal spacers you can get slight angles out which get amplified with distance.
