If you where to get a GT28.....why the hell would you only run it at 1 bar??? Defeats the purpose of going for a bigger turbo!!! Running s hybrid T3 at around 1.2 to 1.4 bar is plentyful and cheaper!

For reliability as the 1.6 zetec is an unknown entity and if I did go that way it would be reliable 230bhp from the 1.6 but I'll see what's what when full kms is fitted but it's only running just over 10psi now and goes well as in the video

Also the chargecooler setup is good for around 18psi before needing upgrading so I don't want to stress it! Anyway 190bhp is fun in a mk3 fiesta :lol:

From general knowledge, the 1.6 shouldn't be any different to the 1.8 and 2.0 engines.

If the rods have been uprated, along with big end bolts ect, then it should be fine for a fair amount of power.

Reason for this is from what I have read somewhere, all the cast iron blocks are the same, it's just the liners that are changed, and then smaller/bigger pistons installed, that then changes the CC, then you have inlet systems ect to restrict/free up power.

I could of course be talking total shite, but I am sure I have read that somewhere before. I might have to research it later.

Either way, if all the work has been done properly and no corners cut, it'll last for a while :)

that's what lee said in a nutshell - but he needs to check my rods to see if they have been uprated - they are fine to around 210bhp but i do not want to stress the engine and throw a rod - he just is cautious as in theory they are the same but we both don't want to blow up :lol:

also 190bhp/200lb.ft shifts nicely and i don't want to destroy bc boxes 24/7 :lol:

all likelyhood is that i'll go full kms and leave it as it is :)

The gearbox should be fine for a while. When you start to get a whine in 2nd gear, that's when you know you're doing a good job in destroying it :lol:

Mine whines in 2nd, and now a bit of 3rd too. But it's only at low rpm you can hear it. Sounds awesome though lol

well i was speaking to lee about this when i went down there monday - and his only concern is standard rods are only good until 220bhp and I think as he has been tuning zetec turbo's for over a decade he would be well placed to tell me about any crank concerns - HTH

just got phil's old headlight protectors (one's cracked but never mind :lol: ) swapped them for the amber side repeaters and clears that came with the si so i see that as a win :lol:
