Quick update lads as i haven't done one in a while!

Been a fair chunk of bits done over the last two weeks with the spare time i've had!

i'll make the list then post some pics to wet the appetite:

All coolant hoses fitted along with the rad and rad fan
Pas all plumbed in
A few chunks of the wiring out of the way (couple of bits still remain)
rear beam fitted as well as the rear coilovers
exhaust is fitted (i use the term losely as some alterations need to be made where the flexi meets one end of the pipe)
Cleared out the rear and have re fitted the carpets and side door cards (seats will follow when its down on all fours)
front arches have been wire brushed and then red oxided as well as under the lower arms carriers (getting a coat of hammerite smooth black next monday)

So it leaves me with the jobs of finishing off the wiring, re fit the rest of the interior, get the front suspension set up then off to the garage for welding




i wanted the tail pipe to not stick out a lot as i hate that look so i took a bit off the previous section so it could be nice and flush. will need some heat wrap as its almost touching the bumper (if anybody has a bit spare let us know thanks)




The pipe coming from the expansion tank to the rad seems to be too long so its snook behind, i need to see a pic ideally of somebody elses set up so i can see exactly how to lay it all out as it's a bit untidy!



and a quick one of one of the recent changes to the wiring i had to make
i had to get the brown wire in this pic joined up in the plug so it connected the exterior loom to the interior loom (zetec to cvh)

so i stripped it back through, used an old plug, connected it to the pin and that was that.


With the recent news ive had ive lost a lot of motivation but ive decided to crack on hence why ive done so much. wish id tried harder earlier tbh!
fairly busy over the next few weeks as im fitting a new kitchen for my mum so ill try and keep at it and hopefully get her fired up soon!

The exhaust isn't sitting right, have you cut it down slightly? If not, you need too, because iirc they are made slightly too long and need trimming down a bit so they sit flush to the car - it might also help the tail pipe stick out so much too.

Yeah we cut it down in several places danny. In that pic the exhaust is jacked up in the middle so its making it tilt doen towards the flexi. Is that what you meant?

It still seems to sit at a funny angle and too low down though, thats why I thought it hadn't been cut down yet. If it all pushes up and sits flush in the gap when its all properly together and that, then it'll be fine

Yeah I think it needs another bracket. On the old exhaust it had one at the gearbox. It diesnt here. Also the 2-1 pipe off the mani seems to go down. Its strange. Its all cut down and fits, but until its on wheels I wont be able to see how its hanging.

very true louis lol! made the necessary adjustments to the exhaust today, sits better now Danny but i wont be able to tell until its off the axle stands!

got it dropped onto the wheels onto the back...very low! will post pics tomorrow as it was too dark when i finished.
Got new track rod ends on and painted the front inner arches with black smooth hammerite.

should have my hubs back monday so it will be back on all fours, onto the drive for a good wash before refitting the interior and finishing off the wiring

how did I know the old Zs would get brought into it at least with that one it was constantly being worked on and I had it for nearly 3 years. Your just pussy footing around :-)
