well, been a busy busy busy end of 2012 and start of 2013 (busy=lazy). lost a lot of motivation for working on the car so ended up scrapping the shell as i found more and more rust. so the plan is to source a new shell and crack on...

lol thats a lie. finally got my arse into gear and got the brake pipes off the fronts and the rears up to the unions.

i would tell you what needs doing but ive told myself enough times im sick of it so updates will only crop up if they are worth doing for you lot as i dont want to turn out to be one of these cunts who gives up on a project.

plan atm is to get it on all fours.

i need wheel bearings, drop links,track rod ends, need to put the new copper brake piping in.

still need to wire shit and connect stuff up. still need rear drums sorting. still need to find 2.0l fuel rail. still need to re fit dash etc. main job is to get it on all 4s then i will go from there!

rear disc conversion is overkill imo and ive heard they can lock up easily. was going to get larger drums but with my upgraded front brakes, larger servo, and braided lines stoping should be ok for me

You could probably use a 1.6 fuel rail and 2.0 injectors. I think that combo would work, or rs1800 rail. I'm sure they are all the same though. Might need some research on that. I probably have a fuel rail kicking around if you need it though. Or I could grab one from a scrappy from a mondeo. Try get one from a mk1 too so it has the right injectors.. I'll see what's about if I pop to any soon and text you.

Don't really need a rear disc conversion on a fiesta, bit overkill. Plus drums are more than capable of stopping a lorry if they are tuned up properly

Right so i thought today i would get some bits ive been meaning to get for a while now. Everything to build up the front suspension so i can get the wheels on and move her onto the drive so i have more room...


i also set about removing the lower arms and carriers to inspect the rust underneath the carriers. the ball joints etc were fucked...



thinking of upgrading the anti roll bar bushes too but i need an idea on price because they seem ok and i cant imagine they will make much of a difference. (please state otherwise if they really do!)

i then decided to crack on with getting the brakes sorted out and the brake piping re bent in the new copper stuff. (should i paint the new piping for added protection or will it be fine without?)

I have flo flex on the rear like. Il do the anti roll bar ones. My plan was to fit everything then use my old lower arms to vamber adjust and replace the bushes

Polybushes will make a very slight difference, but you won't notice it. I'd do it just for the wear and tear factor - they will never need replacing.

Do you want some beefier nuts and bolts for your lower arms? Because the standard bolts in my opinion are fucking shit unless you have a 6 sided 15mm socket. I use some nice bit man sized nuts and bolts with 19mm heads. I'll send you some if you want them.
