well its pretty much the same thing... had to cut some of the insulation off some parts of the loom because i thought moisture had got in... fabric wrap allows any moisture which gets in to evaporate easier than it would with insulation tape on.

we will see chris! :D

The only downside to fabric tape is that it attracts moisture too.

i originally started this without a deadline in mind. i then set myself a deadline for the first weekend of January, but since i set that, ive been anxious as fuck and just feel like im going to rush it. i think it would be careless of me to get it through an MOT etc and throw it straight into a good 2-3 hour journey without giving it a week of running in and checking bits. after i made this decision last night im much more relaxed and feel i can make this a damn good runner.

still got a few things to figure out with the loom but it should move on steady but slowly from now.

Don't bother rushing things because it'll only end in tears. Take your time and it'll be done for the show season :thumbsup:

I kept setting deadlines with the RS and it made me depressed when I didn't hit them so in the end I gave up and just plodded along with it (for most of the year :lol: )

thanks Danny. £15.00 quid p+p mate. wasnt sure the fit would be good but its perfect!

close adam... box oil, pas fluid, brake fluid and coolant. ordered enough incase i come across any issues in regards to leaks etc.

having a deadline is silly, especially when you're not 100% clued up on everything, i admit i should have done more research into doing the whole thing.

Bear in mind as well, that if you want to change the V5 to the 2.0 you will need to get an independant garage to verify the new engine number and size etc.
Complete fucking joke if you ask me, could understand if I was trying to say that it now has a 1.0 in to save on tax but it makes cock all difference!

So once mines up an running again I need to take it somewhere to get ass raped for them to write a wee leter for the DVLA, robbing cunts...

Hello Gents,

bit of progress today, nothing major!

HT leads swapped from the aftermarket red ones to some motorcraft black leads...

Then moved onto fitting the lights and my new indicator clusters.
i gave the headlights a good polish and they came up beautifully! had to file some bits away on the new indicators to give them a near perfect fit. Very pleased with the results...

I forgot to get pictures of the last bit i did but i extended the plug for the rad... feel a lot more confident to tackle the rest now so should see more progress on Friday-Monday!

thanks (again, sorry for the size, still trying to figure out the sizes i need as they got rid of the 'small, medium, large' for us simpletons.

Mate get some silver vision bulbs for the indicators, they flash orange but have a silver coating so you won't have the "fried egg" effect !!
