Same with any maf sensor. Most aftermarket filters are oiled and over time the oil gets sucked into the engine but on the way coats the maf sensor elements which then doesn't give a correct reading - making it faulty. 9 times out of 10 you can clean the sensor with carb cleaner or similar and it will get rid of the oil on it. But still, oiled filters will effect all maf sensors.

panel filters aren't so bad for audi's - induction kit is a problem for audi engine's though

You don't need a filter on a VAG TDi, just get it chipped/re-mapped and you'll get shit tons of extra torque/BHP.

If you really must go after market filter route, a panel filter will be more than enough.

Right the conversion is going ahead tomorrow for this! Managed to source all the parts needed just in time for my 3 days off work

One of the guys at my work is doing this to his A4, stripped it all down rebuilt it as double din and his rns-e doesn't work! Gutting!!
Thankfully te guy he bought it off of eBay from is being all right about it but was gutted for him!

Thanksfully i tried mine before i stripped the dash out and all was good!

Anyway completed it today and im am very happy with the outcome, has transformed the inside of the car completely and the sound quality is so much better than my concert radio. All went smoothly, needed to trim afew parts due to all my ceter consol being designed around a single din and also the climate unit needed 2 mm cut of both ends but it all fits together as it should

Oh it is! I've seem them fitted into the TT mk1 but involve a lot of fabrication. A4 and a3 are the easiest to fit. It's got two ad card readers so I've just loaded the up with music, it then sorts all your music into folders. Love it

I did the same thing. i nicked my red illuminated vents from an Audi S3. I too wondered how i could illuminate the cup holder. irrelevant now as its gone in place of the heated seat switches. Golf MK4 wasnt illuminated either. wonder why they didnt do it on any of the VAG range ?
