Hi, im new to this,
I have had my 'L' reg XR2i for around 8 months now and am in the process of a complete restoration. However i am wanting a bit more power (as always). I have purchased a 2.0 silvertop and intend on putting that in when re painted. Could i please have some information on what sort of throttle bodies? Management? Cams? Increasing compression?
I need a basic few ideas what what to get underway and sourcing bits.
I know this is a very vauge question but would really appreciate some advice!
As for budget im not looking at spending mega money but do want to build a bit of a sleeper!

Looks incredible mate!
Thats the sort of thing i need to find out, i really have no clue on modifying these, i dont know how much would get me what.
things such as increasing the compression and fabricating i can get done for near enough nothing. i just dont know where to start.

Yamaha r1 or r6 bodies or gsxr bodies, mega squirt stand alone management, a good exhaust system and cams you'll easily see 150bhp on a budget, the more you want to spend and the more you know about zetecs and you'll see more power gains

1600 zetec is a bitch to tune as it's only got 22mm valves - for the money it's worth just fitting a 2.0 or 1.8 and tune that.

I know i'm buying a 1.6 zetec turbo - but that was done years ago :P

Adam is right. As everyone has said over the years, the money you will spend on trying to get 10 bhp out of a 1.6 lump, you could spend it on a decent 2 litre engine and have an extra 40 bhp instantly then tune that to get the most out of it.

I can be done yeah, just do some research on google and there will be pages about it with all the info you need :)

If you want a complete setup, I'd recommend chester sports cars :)
