another update

since putting the white fiesta back on the road I noticed the oil pressure light wasnt coming on at all, so I test the switch and switch came up as faulty 5 quid for a new switch sorted

also bought some new brake pads for it as they only have a few k left in them

so will change them around january time

also bought some new escort cosworth discs and pads for the si and the proper spacers this time

also bought new wheel bearings and hub flanges and rubbed down 2 spare hubs I had in the garage which will be painted once there back from having the new bearings pressed in

also I trimmed the metal plate with new sound deadening

and fitted new horn to the si as it was dying yesterday, tomorroq im going to start wprk to repairing the water leak

another update found where the water was coming from, it was coming from the ecu mounting on both sides the seam sealer had come away letting in a small amount of water and destroying the underlay

heres some pics

engine bay view after grinding part of the area down

since the pics ive rust killed the metal luckly theres no holes

should be getting it primed and re sealed sometime next week

also since putting the runabout back on the road theres been no oil pressure light coming on when turning the key so I ordered a new oil pressure switch for a fiver and job sorted

and finally sorted the heaters as well halford book said my car required a 83 degree thermostat but everywhere else says 92 degree so bought a new one and that finally sorted it
