Right guys, as Ben has pointed out I dont have a build thread and seeing as my baby is nothing like how Henry Ford intended I guess I had better make one pronto!!

So, 3 years in one post, here we go:
My first car was a Diamond White 1.1 Popular Plus which had Si bumpers. stuck an Si interior in it, drove it for a few years then sold it.
Bought a Mondeo 2.0 Zetec engine in 2007 as I always planned to get another Mk3. Stripped it down and left it in bits in the garage.

Bought my little baby back in the summer of 2009 as a second car, she started as an Ash Black 1.6 Ghia but had Si bumpers, arch spats and interior when I bought it.
First thing I did was bought some new Lower arms, shocks off eBay and G-Max 30mm springs.
Not much happened to it between buying it and December last year when she lost a heap of oil and, i assume as i've not pulled the sump off the 1.6 yet, minced the crank shells. What ever she did it didn't sound pretty!!

So, the 2.0 needed rebuilt and put in pronto, I re-built it in a couple of days and then hired an engine hoist for a long weekend in January with the plan being to haul the fucked 1.6 out, swap everything over and stick the 2.0 in again... Simples!!
2 weeks of hire later and the engine was finally in, but my neighbours hated me and I can personally vouch that changing an engine by yourself, between the hours of 8pm and midnight, on your drive, in the snow is one of the most soul destroying yet immensely satisfying things you can do!

Since January not a lot has happened to the car,

I've modified the front bumper courtesy of a crash barrier. honest officer, road rage, rain and a slip road bend that's sharper than it looks had nothing to do with it

There's now an A-piller with dual gauge pod on with oil pressure and temperature in it. After the 1.6 mincing itself i'm taking no chances!

I've got a set of FK Coilover. the fronts are fitted but i've just been too lazy to fit the rears.
All new polybushes fitted at the front, along with upgrading to a 16mm front ARB.

So, whats planned for my little go-kart??

Rear coilovers fitted
Rear trailing arm polybushes
2wd Cossie 4 pots to be fitted
Corner weight the coillies once all fitted
Oil change with Millers Nanodrive 5W40 (yes i want 27bhp like the Focus RS in Fast Ford too ;) )

Right, vodka and tiredness are starting to take their toll so ill finish here, but updates a plenty are planned :)

Paul

Hi Ben,

Cheers, took a lot to get it finished mentally after a week of constant nights dicking about but worth it!
It's running a standard exhaust from the local factors but it actually sounds pretty sweet so in no rush to change it :)

Lou,
No, have one in the garage but my rear beam doesn't have the second set of mounts so have put it off :/

Running standard servo, but got a new modeo MC to put in a mk1 servo for when the 4pots go on.
Brakes just now are crap, but I think they just need a good bleed and change of fluid as its two years since I did it last!
Only problem is, I can't get a spanner to fit on te front nipples so trying to hold off until I change over the calipers!!

My Millers oil has arrived now too, so will get that changed over in the next few weeks. The Fez is taking a bit of a back seat at the mo, as the misses has just got a new Seat Leon FR so I'm driving about in our A4 just now as need to get that prepped and polished for selling it. Don't have room or three cars at home so the Fez is in my works car park looking sorry for itself ;)
Hopefully get the A4 sold soon and concentrate on sorting out the Fez for a few weeks, just in time for the snow ;)

Yeah, couldnt get rid of the Fez, too much fun.
And the A4 is worth ten times what th Fez is so makes sense ;)

Samcos are ace, make the bay so much nicer than the standard Ford ones. Not to mention they are bullet proof as I was bursting the old ones left right and centre due to the head gasket letting exhaust gases into the cooling system. That was fun :)

Yeah, brakes are a bit wank but as long as you're expecting it and keep back they're ok. I don't do a great deal of back road driving so they work ok at present, but wanna get them sorted!

I bought them from Burton Power as they were the cheapest I could find.
But the kit doesn't come with the thermostat to heater matrix hose which is the one which had burst on mines so I got in contact with Samco and sent them my burst hose and they made a new one. Also sent them my new Ford Water pump to lower rad hose and they tweaked it so it fitted better :)

Had a thread on here when it was all happening early this year viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23832&p=306788 so don't know if Samco have updated the kit or who has it. Just noticed I also got the water rail to thermostat hose done too :)
Worth giving Mark Hale a shout (Mark Hale <mark@samcosport.com>) as he was the guy I was dealing with and got the hoses done for me. Will defo keep you right, decent bloke too :)

Oh and the 4-pots, I dunno yet :D

Getting a set of inserts made to reduce it from M12 to M10 so that if they dont fit I'm not then stuck with drilled out hubs that my old calipers wont fit on.

As soon as they are here I'll be trial fitting them and seeing if I need spacers with my wheels or not.
From what I've read, depending on wheel config they will need spaced to a point and its a different front disc with the correct offset (can't remember which one but will find out) Other than that, plug and play :)

Famous last words......

Yeah, I thought i'd glance over your 2pot comment!! :D Ya plum ;)

Speak to him, not sure if you'd get it in the kit from Burton as they'll still be going through old stock I would have thought, but you could buy the kit from Burton and buy the two extra hoses direct from Samco.
Or ask Mark for a price from him for the complete kit and compare to the Burton plus hoses price.

Yeah, not sure on the longer studs, I hope not, can't be arsed changing them. Currently got 5mm spacer on with standard studs so hope that'll be enough.

fingers crossed its all together ha! i know its an expensive kit so will have to save my pennies!

well i think the max you can go before you have to put longer studs in is 6mm!

Yeah, not cheap, but as I was bursting them I thought itd be about the same price as a new set from Ford and look nicer!

Yeah, if they dont fit i'll need longer studs, end of... but fingers crossed :)
