bit more work today.
new oil filter on
Image
side mount mocked up (had to grind a bolt off that had a nut attached within the chassis.
Image

next bit is the wiring to the alt.
new alt
Image

alt off the 1.4
Image

second pic isnt very clear but there is different terminals for the wiring. i will go through my new loom to see where the cable is but im guessing it will be completely different hence the different terminations on the new one?

the ho inlet came with the fuel rail but not the plastic black bit with the wiring (not sure on the name), i know its a long shot but will i be able to use the one off the 1.4 inlet?
Image

Also a massive thanks to Awol for providing the bolts i need for the inlet. nice one buddy!

and one final one for the record ;)

The wiring will be on the loom for the alternator, if it's not I'll look up what wires go where and possibly draw a wiring diagram up for it.

The loom bit on the inlet is probably ok from the 1.4, I would imagine its the same as its only a bunch of electrical plugs. It should go into the 1.6 loom no problem. If not I might have spare one somewhere.

Also your tyre is on the wrong way :)

Aaaaand the power steering pipe shit - cant see it on my phone, I'll look later when I'm on the laptop and advise you on what to do then :)

Right not a massive one but just keeping you all up to date.

attempted to get the flywheel off with a normal ratcher and spanner to add leverage. couldn't budge it. so i re-thought my approach, removed the crank sensor and put a bolt in it to hold the flywheel and added even more leverage, this was the weapon of choice...
Image
and one flywheel removed
Image

just dropped it off at a landrover garage round the corner (been a great help with this car so far). they don't think it needs a skim but just a light rub down so they're getting a price after i advised how far i would go with the price. so just waiting on that.

recieved the calipers today. all i will say is 'un-real'.

Mock fitted the braided lines

thanks, Ben
