Hey all, basically being a lemon and jumping the gun, I bought some spax vsx shocks and springs only to find out I bought the N2090 set for the front, which is made for a smaller hub size mk3 fiesta si, now reading through I found out from some of you guys that I need 0.6mm shim's, please correct me if I'm wrong by the way. Does anyone have any info on how to fit these shocks on my 1994 mk3.5 16v Si, or info on possibily making some shims to make them fit.

i'll buy em off ya

you could either go breakers and try n pick up a set of earlier hubs and swap them over
or go to your local machinist with hub and shock diameter measurements and get shims made up to fill the gap

what shocks were they and where did you buy them from?
ive been eyeing up a set on ebay for months

They are a full set of gmax vsx nitrogen gas filled front and back shocks with 60mm springs front and 30mm springs back but I only need the shocks, I bought them from a specialist ford garage in Fordham Colchester, they are almost brand new got them for a sum of £70, when I went down there they quoted me to put a 1800 turbo lump in for £800 aswell (not to bad lol).

I bought some 0.6mm metal to use as a shim, was gonna crimp it up bit tighter so it stays in there. But if they dont fit il give you first notice before I put them up here for sale or on eBay. But someone I've spoke to has shocks to fit as a replacement if things go wrong lol.

yeah no worries il let you know on location is says you live essex so i can meet you if need in stead of postage cost
il be trying to strip it down tomorrow and put back together Friday night, i might take some pictures and do a thread.. depends if it goes well lol.

yeah £800 is a lot of money for a lump, but 1800 turbo .

sweet, yeah im in southend so not massively far away,

hrm bits for sale,

right now i have a pair of rs turbo bumpers no fogs need respray,
stainless steel decat downpipe,
erm door locks windows motors alternator maf sensors xr2i zetec inlet, non egr cast exhaust manifold,
actually loads of bits in my garage, recaro door cards and rear bench, i should probably get this stuff on the for sale list,
i just sold my spare t3 turbo to my mate, ive got loads bits from my fsi what do you need?

let us know how you get on with the fitting on the smal shocks,
i once attempted to fit some gas kyb shocks and i put it all together and then realised the shock literally rocked around in the hub, so i returned them

Erm right now i need a drive shaft boot and something else but i can't remember.. lol, might be interested in the de-cat pipe mate?
