sucks and is sickening but its one of those things Its been sat on my drive since i got the audi and i started it up today and it was kicking clouds of blue smoke out the back for about 30 secs then cleared compleatley so that is indicating the the valave stem oil seals are screwed so there dripping oil onto the pistons when its sat! compression is fine so cant see it being piston rings now, Really dont want to sell it but i no that it will get neglected as i work to many hours to spend every weekend on it.

valve stem oil seals isn't a bad job! I was hoping that was the case with my old engine but it was the oil control rings.

Yup, mine ended up being the oil control rings but still made stock power on the RR, was fine for around 8000 miles before it spun a shell. It smoked much more on 5w30 than 10w40 obviously as it's thicker oil. We've had guys on the ITR forum with damaged oil control rings run another 30k before they've been arsed to fix theirs.

Just thought is say that the Celica was taken to its new home up north on Monday guy bought it for £750 and is going to drive it till the mot runs out then stick a new engine in it and then keep it for year to come and pass onto his daughter when she passes her test in 5 years time hate to know what her insurance will be like on it!!!!!
