Warped a disc badly last week so I went all out and reconditioned both calipers and bought some apec st24 discs for my fiesta SI.

However I'm more than aware it's possible that a vibration I can feel in the gear stick (it 'buzzes' at 50+ with increasing intensity the faster I go) is indicating an actual cause of the warping of the old disc which were second hand anyway.

I have some thoughts:

Failing front hub bearing
Bent driveshaft
Incorrect torqueing of the wheel nuts

I need to investigate this more in person, but I don't have any wobble in steering other than knowing I do need to tweak my tracking a little. I do have a noise from the affected side at times, which seems to be stronger when turning right or applying pressure to the right when driving straight ahead to account for road camber.

My main concern is I don't want to lose a wheel! I may be doing a 370 mile round trip in one day soon and this is the only thing I'm worried about, other than changing the oil and stuff like that.

Any ideas guys?

I'd agree with Des. Quite simple to check, will take about 10mins. Changing them is a bitch though lol
