Probably clockwise yeah. Stick a spanner on there, turn it then slip the belt off the nearest pulley to you, then let go of the tensioner and remove the rest of the belt.

but wont the tensioner come off? and isnt it a pain to put back on? i dnt mind holding it in place but just want to double check ha.

anddd i got two belts (i know this is probz a question for fk-oc but hey ho) one is really long, one isnt as long... me and the bloke at the motor factors figure its the shorter of the two but he gave me em both just incase. i know its a process of elimination but it would be nice to know before i get crackin'.

I'm back home now with a decent keyboard. I did mine wih the light off in the dark with a torch so it's doable. The tensioner is heavy so if you get that far and struggle to hold the tensioner then grab a mate.
The only issue with the headlight coming off is that the bumper needs to be off and if you blow your clips, its more expense and faff.

No the tensioner wont come off. The only way it will come off is if you unbolt it  - or if you go the wrong way, but all that will do is losen the pulley bolt slightly, then just go the other way and it will tighten up again.

Also, the tensioner isn't that heavy, he's clearly just a girl. It will be slightly stiff, because there is a huge spring in it, but it wont be so heavy that you need someone else

Take the old belt off and lay it down next to the new belts, you will soon see which one you need to put on. It's one of the most simplest jobs in the world. A monkey could actually do it!

The reason for two belts is probably for two different varients. One with all the extras like A/C and what not, and one without A/C.

How much of the car do you need to dismantle to take the belt off? Should be able to do it from underneith and up top?

bumper and drivers side headlight had to come off avec the wheel and splashguard. just to get decent leverage to push the tensioner foward enough.

well it's done :) was a breeze tbh. i will post a pic of the belt. omg is all i will say for now ha.

oil leak has returned though :( sump plug tightened up a bit but still came out. only after ive driven for a bit though, i wipe it and it doesnt come back until driven again. and theres a fucking annoying rattling coming from somewhere and the flexi is completely fucked too. so im making my mum take it to the garage so they can sort the shit i cnt lol. lower arms need replacing so ill be doing that when the other shit is sorted.

If its tight it shouldn't be leaking. Stick some PTFE tape on the bolt, that should top it

Well something isn't right if its still leaking when its all tight, so a solution would be to tape it up, see if its still leaking, if it is... check for cracks ect.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh there is some logic to that! :D
