done another trackday on 13th November, the video camera failed me though, it was a eventfull day Fiesta went great with the new Limited Slip Diff, it was wet in the morning but even managed to put the slicks on after lunch what a hell of a differance they make, one lap and they warmed up after which they stuck like Sh1t.
One car through a con rod putting oil down before afast approach to a 180deg corner, the following clio spun and went head on into the armco one written of daily drive, explain that to the insurance

On another note I recently brought a set of Neway valve seat cutter and cut 3 angle valve seats on a ported cylinder head im doing, dont know what difference it will really make to flow but hopefully make lapping in of the valves easier

Nice, always heard good things about LSD's.

Poor Clio, as much as I hate them i'd hate to have my car written off! All that money wasted :(

the dangers of driving on track, you never know what can happen next, all tahts needed is to miss a gear or hit oil and your off

glad the cars going well Will, and the LSD has made an improvement, told you it would mate

remember and get all that swarf out the head before fitting it, itll do a lot of damage if not cleaned out properly

glad the driving is going well, slicks you say? christ what they cost?!

pity about the clio, id be so anoyed

angling the valve seats/valves should help flow, the heads are very crucial on zetecs, ford werent very generous with the ports lol, especially the 1600's :(

Interesting on the valve seat cutter :) Do you often RR the car to see what differences modifications make and get it re-tuned to suit?

Interesting to increase performance on my engine (which is classed as "highly tuned" out of the box or whatever) you need to reduce the size and shape of the ports as they are too big as standard.

Set of slicks for me next year as well. They can be pricey but worth it a million times over.

Always like to see progress in this thread :) Keep it up!

done another track evening at Snetterton on Thursday, not off to a good start as failed the noise signification at 106Db max was 102db, had to then change the whole exhaust laying in the rain for a spare one i have with two silencers in it, that got it down to 96db.
Think i will leave the quiet one on as didn't seem to make any performance distance.
Track was damp so had basic toyo road tyres on which rolled a lot in the corners.
i had issues with the brakes before, i changed the rear cylinders for larger ones as a better match to the bigger RS2000 master cylinder, OMP front pads, crap when cold but great when warmed and didnt fade but that might be a bit down to early braking as damp.

fitted a new dash layout with a new 6 in 1 gauge which has a rev counter, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, volts and clock and then a separate shift light as never have time to look at rev counter. Had a few issues with the gauge at first but checked it against my ECU and seems to be reading ok now.
