so looks like its staying with the wrc look and having team dynamics.

anyway.

fitted the piperx foam panel filter yesterday, only downside was as its for a bmw 318 its doesnt quite sit in the IS airbox, so had to trim the edge off it, but its in now!




also my omp front strut brace from YB racing arrived today, very fast delivery i have to say!
so thats fitted now too!



looks nice under the bonnet, havent driven it much yet, but so far steering feels much sharper, more responsive and precise, and the whole front end feels a bit stiffer!

wider wheels will improve it a massive amount though, was immense with 17s on it, just a bit slower picking up..

yeah don't go massive as it will ruin the ignis charactersitics - although wider fo sho! 5.5j

i meant that as in some cars strut braces dont make an iota difference

no the team dynamics i want a 15x6J ET28. so an inch wider and 17mm lower offset.

so the overall track will be 34mm wider then, so will sit nice under the arches and make the car much more stable.

i havent got a clue why suzuki decided 5j wheels would be good for a car with pretty much 110bhp, they are way too narrow lol

they look good though and only weigh 5kgs each. they are incredibly light. and really strong, ive hit some potholes really hard with them and they are all still perfectly straight. lol

yeah the strut brace does make a nice difference, steering feels more direct now and the whole front end feels tighter. so its doing what its supposed to do. lol

the lower one i had on the arosa made the same sort of difference too, only difference was it used to hit everything lol, bent that one hitting a massive bump in the road lol.

i had a sparco one on the fiesta, i didnt notice much difference with that one but i put it all on with coilovers polybushes etc so wouldnt notice then really.. thing is with those and lots of fords the only bolt onto the strut tops and not the actual shock absorber top mounts, like they do on ignis.

you can get strut brace for the sportka on ebay for about £25 adam!!

cheapest place to get them is ford parts uk mate, about £120 in there. lol i have been shopping around for sportka parts lol

best lowering springs there is apparently, i would have got some for ignis, but at the time they didnt make them for the sport, only standard ones.

anyway after a spirited drive to work this morning, i found that the front end turns in much better, only thing is the back end feels a bit light now, had it sideways a bit this morning lol so i think ill order a whiteline rear arb for it soon..

also, removed the laguna splitter now.

Removed the laguna splitter now and given the car a good clean!





the strut brace has definately made a great difference to handling, car turns in much better now, and it feels much more balanced at the front.

only thing is now the rear is slightly tail happy.

so a whiteline rear arb will be ordered to help that.
