I am trying to find out the history of our car - Ford Fiesta Zetec Si year1998 1.2 5 door
I can only find info on either the zetec or the Si,
Please can you advise accordingly.

Our car was in a RTA and is now a right of, as advised by the insurance company.
So I am trying to find info about this model of fiesta, before I accept their payout.
I have been told that there where not many zetec si 1.2 produced. I can find info on the zetec s and the si, but not a zetec si.
We have the cars full service history (book stamped) and we have had the car since 1999.
It was fully serviced and MOT in feb this year, recently had new tyres and exhaust and was in good condition.
So any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Never heard of a fiesta named Zetec Si before. The 98 si model that comes to mind is a mk4 fiesta si 1.4.

All you have there is a normal mk4 with a 1.25 engine. Probably the most common mk4 there ever was. And then ford have stuck a Si badge on it, like they do with a lot of other models like escort, mondeo ect.

The V5C States that it is a Si, and on the car it says Zetec Si. The car does have sport bucket seats, but no other modifications.

Of course the V5 will say its an Si, same with any other ford model that came out the factory as an Si.

What seats has it got? Any pictures?

I had a 1.4 mk4 Cetec and yes the Si model does exist, however it doesn't offer any significant differences over the Zetec model or any other models.

Only Mk4 model worth more money than others are the Ghia's. Anything with a 1.3 HCS engine is worth nothing too, so models like yours tend to be middle ground.

Its more than likely a ford fiesta si 1.25 zetec, so the model is a Si and its got the 1.25 zetec, as said someone has proberly just stuck a zetec badge onto the back of the car, according to parkers the mk4 fiesta si was made on a 1998 R reg but changed to the mk4 fiesta zetec 1.25 on a 1998 s reg.

from my xp with the mk4 zetec and si

zetec has a/c and the si dont.
si has eletric windows and boot and the zetec doesnt.
zetec has eye mount rear beam and si has fork mount rear beam.
and both cars came in 3 and 5 doors and both had 1.25 and 1.4 engines...
