Sounds like your tracking might need looking at if only one wheel is rubbing

Are they 17s? on a mk3?

If so they are too big and they will rub no matter what really. its only the plastic arch liner though so not too much to worry about. even 16s might give it a little bit of a scrub here and there.

What inch wheel and tyre size you have? 15" 195/45 is a good fit to avoid rubbing.

i have 15s with 195/45 15s on them iv had the steering rack centralised and the tracking done. the garage that done its said its all straight and it still rubs of the inner arches and they told me it because the wheels are of an escort and not a fiesta

That's strange, I have escort gti's on mind with 195/45 and its fine. Try spacing the wheels out abit, maybe 3mm or sumat.

Yeah it may be to do with the offset, different ford wheels sometimes have slightly different offset due to what car they are designed for.

Spacers are your answer, nothing too big, 2-3mm should cure it.

To get an idea of what size spacers you need if you don't have immediate access to some, just get some thin washers and place them over the studs until it cures the problem then measure how thick the washers are in total. But also, make sure its not so thick that it rubs on the outer arches when going over bumps.

Also, don't drive mega far with washers behind the wheel, its not suitable.

ORRRRRRRRRR. Just don't go full lock :D

Fiesta wheel offset is ET41. I had mondeo wheels for a while that were ET47 had the same problem check the offset 2 or 3mm spacer will be fine for ET45. 47 will need 5mm spacer. Make sure if u use spacers that the centre bore of the wheel locates on the hub properly if it don't u need to get hubcentric spacers mine cost 60 for a pair and are for a focus

I have this on my car ATM, I set my tracking by eye as I was in a rush, it's because the front wheels are square with each other but they are not square with the rear wheels, you'll need to get 4 wheel laser alignment done, this cured my car after I fitted new shocks and wishbones

Well, if 8mm is needed on one side and not the other, something is seriously wrong with your car or the wheels.

Bent chassis??? has it been in an accident before you bought it?? check all your wheels are the same offset as some wheels designs were made with different offsets, you might want to find a body shop with a jig make sure the cars all straight

after taking it back to the garage they rechecked the tracking and found it was out quiet a bit so they had to redo it and know it only needs 5mm spacer at the most on both sides could even be less as it only just touching on full lock after they retracked it

Thought it would be the tracking, like I originally said lol.

I wouldnt worry about spacers if its only just touching :)
