In that price bracket, only things I'd go for would be 106 gti, vts, clio 172, gti-6, 306 rallye, etc.

So go for it basically Scott's was silly fast for what it was, really exciting, just drab interior and looks day to day.

Good choice! The cup package isn't that harsh a ride a lot smoother than a mk5 on coilies I would of thought.

Put some sticky tyres on it and chuck it into some bends, there far from boring.

If your looking for something to last, althought a bit more expensive what about a civic type-r? Mate picked his clean anniversary edition for circa £5k

I do one or two 100 mile trips and a 2 mile to work lol but its not tiresome in my car really and that crashes about atm and is mega loud lol

I do have a soft spot for glanza's! You can easily get 200bhp out of them, only a 1.3 too!

Starlets are ugly as sin and very unreliable from what i've heard first hand, not my kinda car and an Audi isn't the sort of car for me, i'm after something Raw, small hatchback with lots of power and good handling

No sound deadening wont bother me, I want to do that to the fez.

I think it is very much a try the car and see how it feels if it doesn't feel right stick with what I know and like, which would be my car, theres nothing I really want unless we start looking at cars that I can't afford like Skylines or a 200SX lol things i'm not ready for really. Would love an MX-5 though but couldn't get rid of my car for one.

Done a few bits today which has made me feel a bit of love towards the car

New thermostat after finding out the old one had on insides



Arch bashing as there was a little bit of metal which was causing all my "scrubbing" issues and tearing my tyre to bits!



Properly cut the towing eye to allow for some major tuckage



Sorted my stereo so it doesn't keep falling out, as it has since I bought it!



That along with suspension whacked back to soft the car drives lovely again doesn't crash around and doesn't scrub!

I have not done half what I wanted to do to mine and the other half has broken

I have gained a little motivation towards it, I really want to get all the interior out and black, try and mask up the interior and do the dash, do the doorcards, suede the roof lining, summer project.

It will eventually have to be sold unless I come across a lot of time, money and mechanical experience to stick a duratec in it or a Zetec turbo. Else i'll open my options up to something like a 172 or similar. I can't say whether it will be in 6 months or 2 years but I have had the ZS two years now and will take it as it comes

you considered a 205gti ? .. phil had one and i couldnt get over the handling ! nothing i have ever been in could out handle it. they are retro looking, plenty quick enough (especially the 1.9) and they handle like they are on rails !! not too pricey either. the older 106 ph1 rally or xsi are pretty awesome little cars too
